One custom they have I found unusual at first. When someone they loves dies, they inscribe the back window of their car with a "tombstone" style of rememberence.

Over here when someone dies (and someone in the "circle of friends" seems to die each week) everyone gathers at the person's house for the next three evenings, and sits out front with the family and plays cards and mahjong. The whole village goes to these evening parties - because they're fun, albeit depressing for obvious reasons. Then they bury the person on the 4th day, and about 10 people go to the burial ceremony, because that's not very fun.

it is so unlike a funeral it's amazing.
