Roth remains a strong possibility for me.

My great reservation comes from the horizon, the light of the dawn of a new tax age so to speak. The progressive income tax has been thoroughly discredited from an economic point long ago, now its political, i.e., demagogic hold is also weakeniing.

The crux: I would really hate to have paid the amount of taxes I would anticipate only to see the implementation of a flat tax or consumption tax making such foresight prove more than abortive, but actually harmful in a big way.

Last time I looked the Treasury does not give refunds for error of forethought.

Regards

off topic I'm not sure many will be in a lower tax bracket when they retire applies to si members. Many of us folks will have increased income after retirement. I believe that is why they eliminated the excess penalty tax. There are many software programs to do the calculations. John

ps I also continue to buy cisco and added yesterday.
