I'd further guess you've had little or no exposure to a vast body of literature examining why mechanisms on the "right" work best. Well, I don't see a need for that. I'm a 'free market capitalist' based on my participations in the financial markets for near 40 years along with small business exposures of various kinds. Pretty sure I'm well-aligned with the political right when it comes to the economy, business models, etc. I've experienced the mechanisms you allude to firsthand. I'm just viscerally disinclined to use labels...that's all. Real life is more fluid and nuanced than labels permit, imo. And I've found that people frequently wear different philosophical hats at the same time, just don't realize they're doing so.
