You can make a convincing case that Obama's takeover of banks, auto companies, the whole health care sector, is an exercise in taking control of whatever part of the capitalist system he thought he could take control of.

Maybe we define 'takeover' differently. The banks, for ex., were loaned money. Where was the takeover? Also, the loans....the $25 billion each....came from Hank Paulson/Bush administration. But that doesn't even matter. The salient factor, I still believe, is intent. There's nothing to suggest that Obama took office with the intent of taking over the banks and the auto industry. Economic crises dumped on him.

I'll grant you that reforming the health insurance industry was an open goal. Getting insurance to the uninsured has always been a Dem goal. What was shocking was the proposed solution, the ACA....the terms of it, the structure of it, the subsidies, etc.
