A bold plan indeed. Wait two years before you copy. Translation: "We have no hope of making any kind of decent Android tablet for at least a year and probably longer."

HTC is indeed doing well though on phones. My point was competition is inevitable. A fragmented market of competitors, is for Apple, much preferable than a market with one or two strong competitors.

Apple will capture the consumers who have neither the time to shop, nor the time to spend days researching a $200 consumer device:

The rich. The cream of the demographic. The smartest and the most tech savvy. Most androiders are trying to save a hundred bucks and hoping to get an iPhone experience.

No reason for Apple to compete on price.
