iOS's "multitasking" has its limitations, but most users will never realize those limitations. How do you think Apple came up with the 9 processes they would allow to run in the background? They can add more blessed background processes as demand and usage scenarios evolve.

One thing I'd like to see in iOS is a task scheduler. I don't need my RSS reader to stay open all the time, but I do like it to refresh itself in the background. If an RSS reader could schedule itself to run every 15 minutes in iOS, it would satisfy most of what I currently use multitasking for in webOS.
