Ali,
Check out TCGI website tcg.com
A few highlights:
1. Teleport Communications Group (TCG) is the nation's oldest and most
experienced competitive local telecommunications provider for businesses
and long distance carriers. Our network currently encompasses nearly 8,000
route miles throughout 57 major markets. Each TCG network is structured
to meet the requirements of the business community it serves through a
unique combination of technology, innovation and local management.
2. TCG currently operates digital switches in Baltimore, Boston,
Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis,
Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix,
Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
3. OmniWavesm TCG's 38 Ghz milliwave private line service supports
capacities of: (4) DS1's, (8) DS1's and (1) DS3. Broadband
milliwave transmissions provide quality and reliability that's
comparable to fiber optics.

So to answer your question I think Biztel was probably a better fit for TCGI. Which company is better between WCII and Biztel. No comparison, WCII.
My question is if WCII, ARTT, Biztel and Teleigent can now amass more spectrum then how does that effect WCII's position? If you could purchase ARTT for 500 million and add to thier spectrum holdings then why pay 3 billion for WCII?
And thier is plenty of competition out there. WCII has close to 200,000 lines of capacity. It is excellent growth but what percentage of the infrastructure needed does that represent? 3%, 5%, not much.
WCII is basically still very speculative. For every time we here Bill R. is in negotiations, the AT&T's of the world are talking to every other LEC and CLEC in existence.
Still planning on WCII going big but also keeping a cautious eye open.

Patrick

P.S. Yes Ali I do still consider WCII tiny. It does have huge potential.
