Vancouver is not the only risky stock exchange. Most of its companies are in the oil and precious metal exploration business. Statistics prove that a large precentage of ANY start up company will fail. The failure rate for venture companies looking for an economic mineral deposit is even higher. Will Zappa have an economic deposit? Their portion of the Guadualupe consession via their JV with EMC is economic. Additional drilling will prove more gold reserves to their account. La Plata, Mollopongo and Papa Grande have gold and are promising. Dean mentioned Cross Lake(CRN) a few posts back. Look at their chart. For them to skyrocket the way this one did on assays inferior to Zappa's is the reason why we invest in these sort of companies. Cross Lake must have the most brilliant promoter in the universe for the company to react the way it did. I joke about Zappa out of frustration, but believe that it will preform well some day. I also enjoy hearing about any negative info. about a company. You learn quite alot when potential pitfalls( all companies have them) are discovered. Vancouver, Montreal, Alberta, OTC BB, NASDAQ, AMEX, all risky, and to a lesser extent,(but you would be surprised) the NYSE. The most important thing to understand when playing any stock market is that they were not designed to help the individual investor make money. The big boys dominate and play us for fools whenever possible. It is the function of the smaller exchanges to enrich the company insiders and promoters, and to FLEECE EVERYONE ELSE !!! That is how Vancouver and the others operate. Until these junior exploration companies graduate to adulthood, they are to be treated like the babies that they are. Take profits from any significant run up. I have ZPA GTC sell orders at what appear to be ridiculously high levels ranging from US $1.00 to $5.00. You never know. You may discover that your company has surged when you weren't paying attention only to fall to its previous level. Anything is possible.
