Son asks can I go to xxxx birthday party.. it is a sleepover and I have no race that weekend.. OK but you still have training.. I will pick you up @ 7:45.. be ready... OK.. Friday son goes to sleepover after paper route.. home of friend that does almost no activities... (one street over... good kid) sad as it is parents fault.. I call son @ 7:20 next AM.. I will be there 7:50.. be ready I cannot ring door bell that early.. OK dad.. I pick him up .. he is ready.. So I ask have fun ? Yep What did you do... watched movie, played ping pong and video games what time did you go to bed ... 6:45 !!!! did everyone stay up that late ? No me and M were the last two.. XXXs and YYYs went to bed @ 2, ZZZs and UUUs went to bed @ 3:30 .. Well you need to train hard for 3 hours starting @ 9.. you will be off your game.. No I'm fine.. @ 12:05 I pick him up after training.. so how did it go ? ... Fine... (Red flag LOL) what did you work on.. we did a lot of moguls (bumps where he usually rules) I had some trouble.. they weren't uniform.. ROTF.. they are bumps.. of course they are not uniform... you were tired and off your game ... right ? not best effort right ? .... quiet.. yes.. Oh I say.. you must be tired now.. No I'm not tired.. (pig headed) So ... really ? Hesitation.. Next time I will not stay up so late.. it was fun but it would still have been fun going to bed earlier.. likely lesson learned We will see.. Big nap on Saturday 3 hours for kid 'not tired' LOL.. after training as we had team party that evening.. Party was interesting.. 12 kids including mine.. half of kids in French school.. so have multiple language.. couple gifted. mosly straight 'A' students.. no bad students.. all play multiple sports.. at higher level.. 4 play piano well... at party they played Guitar Hero.. no kids needed talking to.. all well behaved and respectful.. imagine that... I really think the Chinese mother method is far too severe.. kids are different.. and following strict Chinese Mother scenario is for lazy parents looking for easy foemula..... so how was ski party.. FUN.. Interesting with kids that have lots in common.. high activity rate..
