Ward, very nice point. I couldn't agree more on your observations.
Yes, the market is so lousy that nobody wants to buy anything right now other than the vultures who are trying to pick up ridiculuos bargains. It is very positive that TSn did not go down today, as was the case with almost all the small caps. When the Asian flu goes away, TSN will contuinue its way up on the trendline.

As for the consolidation, think about this ; company also announced yesterday that it will continue to buy back its shares ?. Are they silly to put company's cash into their stock if they believed consolidation would hurt it.

For those of you who may know , take the example of Magellan Aerospace (MAL on TSE). Very similar to TSN , great turnaround story.
They had a 1 to 5 consolidation when the stock was about 1 dollar, which put the stock at $5 after consolidation. Less than a year later today the stock is trading between 10.00-11.00 range.

Yes, it's true that most rollbacks are done after slides and not after rises like Tecsyn has had, and that that may colour the way they are viewed. And maybe my expression "kill it" was a little harsh, but companies that can't resist the urge to diddle with the paper really irritate me. It's not like they're going to get into the TSE 300 with this market cap, so the only reason they can trot out is the old "mutual funds won't buy unless we're over 3 bucks" argument. Well, imho, let the mutual funds change their stupid rules.

There's Gentra as an example of a company who refrained from taking the sleazy short-cut of paper games, they plugged away and grew the company from thirty-some-odd cents to five bucks, the straight and honest way. Tecsyn could have done that.

This rollback was the first major negative for me, but not the only reason I sold, another was the fact that the best quarter of the year was out and it looks like there's not much more coming for happy stories in the near future, another is that I'm unwilling to leave serious cash tied up, being generally in a cash-generating mode.

I'll be watching TSN, still have a few, may pick up more in a dip or a general meltdown.

Luck to all ............... cheers ........... marcos

PS ... re your question 2; TSN doesn't export to Asia maybe, but could still be affected by cheap imports(?). But that's not a big deal in the long run, imho.
