That doesn't sound like people who are ready to go bonkers.>> It is not anecdoatal crap it is statistics. I know the Jews and Japanese benefit from their educations. I stated that clearly. MY point is that you do not need to be a Tiger mom (drive the kids hard) to raise a well educated kid. When kids are young they should have lots of free time to play. In fact I always made life as easy for my kids as possible because I am not sure what lies ahead. Let them eat stawberries now because the road ahead could be rough. Especially with the right wing and Wall street increasingly gaining control of this country using the uneducated voter to get there. You lack compassion. And people with little compassion think sensitive people are weak or nuts. Been that way throughout history; and they have always caused the most trouble for people. You OK with Sweden's law outlawing hitting kids? I am!
