I've already posted several times my answer to that question. Maybe you can look through them?

My SI subscription doesn't cover the ability to go back through them for you.

I'll add this though. There was a time when I DID believe more in the ability of a government to micromanage with success. That trust has been steadily undermined watching politics more closely in the last 15 years. It eroded during the Bush years and continues now.
