..it's illegality is facilitated a lack of regulation...

Really - which regulation is that?

Straw purchase?
Transferring arms across international lines?
Gun ownership in mexico?

Which new law do you propose that is lacking in your mind?

.i recognize the futility of arguing gun sensibilities with gun fanatics

Probably because you can't win a war on poverty, drugs or crime - no matter how many laws or programs you put in place.

I'm a gun owner. Mainly because, if I ever need one, I don't want to be stuck bringing a carving knife to a gun fight. I know too many crazy rednecks that own them.

I was raised with them, by my father, a southern man. He took me hunting, but I never took to extinguishing the magical life force of another being. I'd prefer it happen out of sight and out of mind, before I consume their flesh.

I don't get much pleasure in target shooting either, even though I used to do it and won several competitions as a teenager.

I've been exposed, but just really don't get gun fanaticism. I don't understand such people.

Idiotic nonsensical word play...it's illegality is facilitated a lack of regulation...

The missing element is enforcement - especially in Mexico.

The nonsensical part is when you demand that lawmakers write something down on paper and then assume that will do something to stop the crimes - when everything that's an issue is already illegal.

Enforcement - aggressively done against the source, not pursuing the people at the bottom would be a far more effective strategy.
