Might well be. All govt's have there displays of ego stroking. US is not alone nor the worst. What so many fail to see is there is a concerted effort to turn citizen against citizen and keep the focus off the money changers. The CIA/Mossad/KGB are masters at this. They go into a country, get the people fighting and killing themselves then clear the way for the takeover. Rather they fight each other than us, they say. This has gone on forever... but people get emotional about it and thus loose focus on the real point. There is an inverse relationship between emotion and logic.... So, the best way to get something in the back door is to get the people emotional and fighting themselves. Clear sailing. Just think how different things would be if people gave up their need to be right, came together and demanded a concerted change. 'They can't arrest us all," always falls on def ears. jmho ZM
