Some of these folks, the so called right wing media folks and the right wingers have no clue to what the President said in the SOTU. They continue to dwell in the principles and ideas that were true 200 years ago but have since changed due to the advancement in technology etc. Bush talked about less dependence on oil but he did not tell the nation how. He couldn't because he was beholden to the special oil interests. Now here comes Obama who laid out a plan on how to depend less on oil and increasing mass transit and the wingers are clueless. The he talked about improving our education and the wingers are clueless on that too. They failed to grasp the analogy of "the Sputnik moment." I thought it was just Sarah Palin who is a dickhead. Hardly. The right has become riddled with idiots. There has been a severe dumbing of America and its most evident on the right. I am beginning to think we are seeing the results of a deteriorating educational system. If you watch any of the talk shows or the Jerry Springer shows or watch the antics of the Hollywood set, you get to see a lot of very stupid and uneducated people. Its pretty shocking to me. Not only are the wingers stupid and uninformed but they really don't want Obama to succeed. Its that blatant. And I don't know how you fight them. If my theory is right and Americans have become less educated, how do you get across the fairly complicated concepts that Obama was promoting in his SOTU? Wharf was complaining there wasn't enough specifics. Hell, people were confused with what Obama did say. And how do you promote the concept of hi speed rail when most Americans have never been outside this country and have never come close to experiencing what hi speed rail is and how effective it can be. Meanwhile, the concept of no more taxes, more guns and smaller gov't are easily promoted in sound bytes and easily understood by even the most moronic among us. The truth is, Chinu, I think we are rotting from the inside out. This decay has been fomenting under the surface for years......probably decades......and now has come to the surface. I don't know how you stop it.
