Here's the first nail in Windows OS coffin.

Sun gains ISO approval
infoworld.com
The countries that voted in favor of Sun are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungry, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Russia, Slovene, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
---

Now I know how much power MS has in the US and yes I'm proud to be a Canadian today. I would have been very upset if Canada voted no. Now lets get the next nail ready which is Suns suit. The only problem as you can tell MS has lots of power in the US so this one is going to be a little bit harder.

Mike

After a dry spell, Lotus shows it still knows how to create innovative software infoworld.com

Good technical achievements, however, have failed without sufficient industry support. Lotus left few stones unturned: Netscape, Oracle, IBM, Sun, and everyone else (except Microsoft) -- cleverly known as the NOISE coalition -- have endorsed eSuite. Lotus clearly demonstrated that the NOISE coalition is more than just a "we hate Microsoft" support group and that competitive alliances can be formed around core products.

Cleverly known as the NOISE coalition? My understanding is that NOISE was originally a derisive acronym from Microsoft, but whatever. NOISE- Hear it, Fear it.

Cheers, Dan, sometimes E faction correspondent.
