Finding the best solution for us and the people of Egypt and people in the ME in general is clearly the most compelling way to get out of this situation. In other words a partnership between the US and peoples of Egypt (and people in ME in general) is more likely to win than any other possibility eg situations where Egyptians take on any other interest group (China, Russia, Saudi, Iranian, religious fundamentalists, etc, etc). Egypt is unlikely to succeed by going on alone. Our best bet is to help Egypt and the ME to find and make the best deal. If the US turns out to be their best bet, so be it <g>.
