<<<So what was your point about them going out of business? >>>

There is an old saying in business. A business can not succeed based purely on cost cutting. An opportunistic CEO may take over a business and produce a profit by cutting costs and show signs of profitably in the first year or so, but he will not succeed if he does not find money to grow the business - find and hire great new employees, invest in marketing, sales, and R&D.

Give me one example of a CEO who succeeded in business purely on the basis of cost cutting.
