The demographics of the region scream instability. There is a bulge in the late teens and early 20s which historically have led to changes in societies and governments.
More like a quantifiable black swan event :) There have been think tanks warning of this bulge of young people for a few years.
I think you are spot on about the hopelessness of the young people.
