To all:

I have no agenda other than offering a balance to the hype that goes on in SI.

On stock repurchase in the wake of sequential losses: I have been following a company, LIPO, that experienced losses quarter after quarter as of July 1997. LIPO, owned by a bunch of rich doctors, failed to show sequential earnings and the Wall Street was punishing the stock. The company and owners instituted a (massive) buyback of LIPO stock at around $22-24. The Wall Street began dumping the stock and the stock price collapsed to $7 by the end of July, reducing the Doctors' wealth by 66%! LIPO is now trading at ~5. I have done well by not buying LIPO. There are many companies who have shown their share repurchase bravado in the wake of sequential losses and did not do well because the block-traders seem to dictate the price.

I think FIBR insiders are smarter than LIPO's in just using company's resources to buyback stock for their stock options. That said, I wish good luck to all FIBR owners. May the stock price climb to $30, as many posters had dreamed around July-August.
