In case you haven't figured it out, the "enforcement personnel on-site" means you send somebody from your staff to take a test and get certified. It doesn't mean there is a state employee on the premises. (Every hospital is required to have one, too; they are called "infection control nurse".)

You totally miss the point. This is a government solution in search of a nonexistent problem. Someone, somewhere, made a mountain out of a mole hill and the result is a government bureaucracy.

I know a little about the food service business. We have frequent health inspections, they're rigorous, and we don't need more government meddling where no problem exists.

Everyone knows they're supposed to wash their hands. Unless this new person is going to accompany them to the rest room, it isn't going to make a positive difference. Everyone knows countertops have to wiped down. Nothing new here.

Of course, the idea that menus should be influenced by such a program is just more government involvement in our lives when we don't want or need it.

Thank god it is in Mass. I think those in MA, NY and CA deserve it.

I think the prevalence of squirt-on and wipes, alcohol based disinfectants probably helps a lot, nowdays. I know from my brief career as a CNA that although you're supposed to wash between each patient encounter, sometimes circumstances just don't allow it.
