Well then what's stopping the government from taxing us, using the tax revenue to buy the product, then giving us the product? That's how socialism works, no?

Seems pretty strange to me that the courts would find a lesser usurping of power to be unconstitutional. Yet if Obama and the (formerly) Democratic Congress actually went full-force socialism, that would have survived any legal challenge from the courts.

Either way, we all know why the health insurance mandate was put in there. It's to get more people into the pool so that there is a bigger stream of premiums to draw from. That was the "compromise" solution between doing nothing and going all the way toward single-payer health insurance.
