There are people who want to have power over people

There are people who prefer that others have power over them so they don't have to take responsibility for their own actions

And there are people who have no desire to have power over other people and who are willing to take responsibility for their own actions.

I am in the third group.

As are quite a few people on this thread.

Which makes us probably the best choices as politicians.

but....we (I) just don't want the job.

And there's a pretty good chance that I wouldn't get through the vetting process. ahem.....

Most of us here are originalists. The primary argument between conservatives and liberals is whether the constitution is static or dynamic. Thomas Jefferson however expressed the concern that the courts would turn the constitution into "a thing of wax" as he put it. To learn more these links should be helpful. :)
