It is to the advantage of certain interests in the US to create the impression that radical Islam will inevitably take over in these types of situations. The other big difference I forgot to mention between Egypt and Iran lies in the true power behind the scenes. In Iran, it was the mullahs, while in Egypt real power lies in the army, who as evidenced by their long campaign against the Muslim Brotherhood have no interest in a takeover by the Islamists. LC
