Nothing silly about it. Suicides are when someone chooses to kill themselves, not someone forcing violence on another, or accidental deaths. It could be reasonably argued that they shouldn't count at all, since the people where trying to die; but I personally wouldn't go that far, I would just count them as less, subtracting some estimate of the number of people who would have killed themselves anyway.

Also even counting suicides fully, cars are still statistically more dangerous.
