Wouldn't it be nice if the company did actually send out product literature? In fact, several requests to both APAT and Roy Wallace of the Walace Group (Co's PR firm- ph 612 341 2100) have met with no return mail or other response-see for yourself; they won't send anyone a package-that would be an informed investor request, they don't seem to want any questions.

Lack of response and obviouos market maker collusion (200 shares up at open, bid moved below) and other shenaningans (lack of any announced production schedule, etc.)leaves one to smell a rat. But ... the market makers, now having taken the stock up all they can (boy isn't this Silicon Investor great!),are now anonomously selling their shares on INCA (Instinet for all you E -traders), a sure sign of a broken trust among thieves.

Do you really think Miller Johnson is good for 3,500 on the bid? NFW, they back down every time. Due dilegence? Really, lets see: comparable valuation to Ciena w/ no products shipping to speak of. Must be a really good product: Gee I wonder why there is no written research with such a deal like this? Not even the local firms will put out a tout sheet! Get off it, this thing is a joke and your little chat sessions ain't going nowhere dude.

Good evening Jim,
The info coming out on APAT appears to be satisfactory to most folks... I'm rather surprised that there hasn't been a "normal" retrace of at least half the recent run-up. But apparently there are sufficient buyers to pick up any available stock around the $8 level.
My strategy continues to be one emphasizing a very large (for me) cash position, getting ready to establish some selective new short positions to take advantage of (hoped-for) tax selling. However, Have NO plans to short APAT, and don't understand what the logic would be to do so.
Thanks for the continuing updates on APAT developments, visits, etc., Jim. I consider that a real service to those "interested in APAT", as the thread is labeled.
I imagine the breaks in the weather are fairly few for you these days. Not to be unpleasant about it, but we have been enjoying excellent golf weather. With a major remodeling project ongoing, I haven't taken advantage of every opportunity, but the game is starting to fall into place. I found I must use more club (MUCH more club) than I used to, but that's the price one pays. The days of the 150-yard 7-iron appear to be history. We will play 18 on the local course Tuesday, then go to Valley International CC on Saturday. The following week we will do River Bend CC at the very tip of Texas. You can literally hit it out of the country down there (and I have done so).
Have taken your advice to hit em straight, Jim, and have started getting some 9's in the 30's again...
Hope you're taking your own advice. Cheery regards, Duane
"The Saintly One"

Jim, Your post about the APAT float came back to mind with Craig's post on the APAT short position... You said:

<< The folks I visited with who toured the facility two weeks ago were very impressed
with the employees, Dr. Jim Pooladdje and the facility.

There are 8million shares outstanding. I think that the figure of a 5million share float
may be a bit high. This stock has never traded in huge numbers since I have been
involved. I think a lot of that has to do with quite a few people just like myself. I
have never traded the stock and continue to add to my position. Right or wrong,
that has been the way I have invested in APAT.

The financials are good, as far as I am concerned, considering the costs that APAT
have undertaken getting the project off the ground. I did not expect APAT to make
any money the past few quarters but I did not figure they would lose as little as they
have while undergoing the transformation from R@D to manufacturing.
Management has always been fiscally responsible. >>

What I was interested in knowing --- did you ever get a better handle on the "real" number for the available float? If the increased short position in APAT (per Craig's data) is actually a much higher percentage of the "available" float, then the short positions become much more interesting <g>
According to the smarter Shorters, there isn't yet enough stock shorted to make a short squeeze feasible.. just uncomfortable if APAT comes out with some good news. But we can hope <g>
Are you having a great "Turkey Day"? (I'm trying to work off the first run at the chow by exercising my fingers on the keyboard) <g>
No golf today, but thinking about it :-) dlo
