There is always Plan C come to the NWT where gold and diamonds abound, its just a matter of finding them and the fishing is great, if you are so inclined. Now there is an idea we all go ice fishing on Snap Lake. Anyone got a spare ice auger....... The geoscience forum in Yellowknife is Nov 26 to 28 and I see by the schedual that WSP is to give the first talk of the diamond session on friday followed by Diavik, GMD, a talk on the Jericho Pipe and then a talk on the "Upper Mantle Stratigraphy and Thermal Regime of the Central Slave Craton".
