As the dollar becomes worth less or worthless people would rather own stocks. Especially stocks that own and hold commodities like gold oil and copper. But the fact that most stocks have earning power makes tham better than dollars or bonds. I remember when Carter was President my bond holdings lost over half their face value as interest rates went crazy.
