There are dictators beyond those we support. If possible, we take 'em out if they get in our way, ala Chile.

The set of dictators includes those we support and those we do not support. The question was why we support *any* dictatorships.

We support what we profit from, no more, no less.

their officers demonstrating professionalism in maintaining order..
Except when they were killing the Egyptian protesters and sending in armed thugs to beat them to death. So much for professionalism. What are you? An apologist for the Mukhabarat?

It's not likely to be perfect at any time, but sometimes the alternative to dictatorships, such a Islamic totalitarian regimes, are the lesser of two evils.

Spoken like a true narrow minded conservative who worships private profits and the false stability of dictatorships over the messiness of Democracy. Why don't we just take your beliefs to their logical conclusion? Let's implement them here in the US and put a stop to all of our own Democratic processes. After all, they are also very messy and create all this abhorrent tension in people and it sometimes results in leaders like Obama that get in the way of unfettered oil drilling. Just admit it. You don't believe in Democracy at all. Rather, you believe in stability at any cost, security over freedom, and profits over any other ideal. Or at best, you don't believe in Democracy for those inferior Islamic people. They can't handle Democracy, because they aren't evolved enough, is that it? The only countries you want for Democracy to take root in are those that will be US allies and lick-spittles. We don't want any other country thinking for themselves, afterall.
