peter, Get real. The market as a whole is technically in a negative mess. CPQ "is" and "has been" a leader in this market and "WILL BE" a leader in its recovery. You are predicting very radical technicals. May I suggest you use some fundamental rational about CPQ and the market as a whole. There could be a very interesting day at hand for shorts in the leaders of the techs. IS IT TODAY? I can only answer at 4pm EST. Good investing to you. Tom @ MOSES Trading Inc.

When someone said the momentum is gone, hen I know it is time for me to jump into the market to get cheap shares from you, and this is also the time when the bottom is closed.

Peter, if you REALLY believe you're right - short CPQ for a 16 point run. At a price of 42 the P/E will be considerably less than the market average. That would be unremarkable except you are talking about a tech powerhouse who is a target market segment leader.

Does it seem reasonable for a market-leader, blue chip stock to lose virtually half of its market cap within 30 days of announcing upside surprise earnings, declare a cash dividend, and announce a stock split? I don't think so.

If you really want to short, I think I'll gamble and take the opposite side of the transaction. But, best of luck to you, whatever happens.

Please short a bunch of CPQ. I'm trying to pick up a few more shares at $55.

Mr ShiMeister:
Forgive my ignorance, but CPQ was up over 7% today (to close at 62 1/4). When you said your CPQ target was 42 did you mean:
1) 42 hex (equals 66 decimal)
OR 2) 42 after the 2 for 1 split (equals 84 by today's standards)
OR 3) 42 hex after the 2 for 1 (equals 132 by today's standards)
?
Best of luck to the bears (I love ya)... after all, somebody's got to wash cars and wait on tables, heh, heh, heh...
