Cyclone Tracy 1974 destroyed the Bureau of Meterology's anemometer so we don't know what its wind speed was. .... Darwin and the north of Australia have felt the force of a cyclone on a number of occasions – the worst being in 1897, 1937 and 1974. ..... naa.gov.au News articles say its ONE of the most powerful cyclones to hit Australia. No way to really say this years is the most powerful or largest ever. But go ahead and make up stuff.
