Hey guys: Has anyone noticed the insider selling in CIEN? stocksmartpro.com I'll admit being short the stock and taking some heat, but the above is hard for me to ignore. Sorry to be a party pooper, and I may have to cover, but just thought I'd mention this. Jack

I'm thinking of entering as well, despite the high PE of 65 (according to Yahoo). With 1998 earnings estimates at $1.45 though, this company seems bound for success. If others on this thread could shares their thoughts on growth at CIEN and prospects for earnings and share price, that would be wonderful. Also, what kind of competition does CIEN have as of right now? Are there any companies out there with similar technologies (which create a backbone some 16X faster than current speeds)? What type of market share does CIEN have and how do its products compare, if there is indeed direct competion? Thanks a lot. Ian
