Maybe Gary can address this. But I think it is a copywrite matter. In the past, they sold the required code, and have required royality payments if they included direct read into their programs. for MSWIN 6.x, they have decided not to make code available.

The 255 limit has always been a minor problem to me. It is easier to work around it then to take time-consuming efforts to eliminate it. A prime complaint against Equis has been file management. Those that report using 2000 limit for dir. have said their program turns to mud, slow.

Can't belive it can't be reverse engineered. Its only code..

Do doubt it could be reverse engineered but as far I and many others
on this thread have seen, no one has done it yet. BTW: MsWin really does crawl if you load 2K securities in a directory. Copy one of the dirs off their CD to your HD and try it. Don't think you will like
the results.
