--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 13, 1997
WHO:
EarthLink Network, Inc. (NASDAQ:ELNK) today announced it will offer Internet access via 56K modems nationwide. The deployment, which will allow K56flex connections at more than 390 points of presence (POPs), allows EarthLink members to connect to the Internet at higher speeds from local phone numbers across the country.
WHAT:
Earlier this year, EarthLink became the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) to offer its members 56K Internet access from both X2 and K56flex modems. For flexibility, EarthLink still supports both protocols, and will continue to until a universal standard is adopted.
