Cap and trade should be opposed on the grounds of separation of church and state.

Hard to say, even in the intermediate time scale. People gonna be starving in the next few years. Was it better to stay at a stable 1B, or build up to 7B and crash in misery? We are where we are. Is it less desirable than it would be, had we heeded Nixon and Carter instead of Raygun? Undoubtedly.

Are humans wiser than yeast? Doesn't look like it. I wonder if yeast colonies have their Koch Bros.

Of course it has. The earth is a shifting system. But normally, these shifts happen over thousands or tens of thousands of years. As far as I've ever read, significant global shifts in climate don't happen over decades. But that's what's happening.
