KURLAK ALERT!!! CNBC's DF reporting ML's Kurlak is cutting estimates on TI. Haven't heard/seen anything else.

Everyone knows (and has known for months) about DRAM weakness, but I guess it doesn't become official until a couple of Wall Street analysts get around to finally acknowledging it. Dan Niles also had comments yesterday re: DRAM weakness. Of course, Dan Niles was also the guy who increased his estimates on TI back in the mid-130's.

Also, eveyone knows that TI's DRAM exposure is nowhere near where it was 1-2 years ago.

Flat, but considering long entry on the typical Kurlak reversal. Guessing that some buzz in general on techs out of COMDEX next week might help.

Frankly, I'd love to see this thing somehow rally in the face of a Kurlak estimate cut.

Good trading,

Tom

Wait a second...(in edit mode now): TI's management came out last night and said everything is okay in Asia long-term? And Kurlak cuts his numbers anyway?

Today could shape up as a fight between who is to be believed: Kurlak (who watches things and opines, sometimes quite foolishly) or the TI (the people who actually run the company, IMHO quite well despite ongoing DRAM industry weakness).
