Real. Not hype. MPEG2 tape recording.......................

Indigita Introduces Industry's First Multimedia Tape
Drive; New DVDS Format Provides MPEG-2 Full-motion
Video Capability for Desktop Computers

Comdex/Fall '97, Microsoft Partners Pavilion, Booth Q-5

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1997--Indigita Corp. will introduce its new digital
multimedia tape drive for computers at Comdex/Fall '97 in Las Vegas.

The new drive utilizes the innovative DVDS format for recording and playback of digital video using
industry standard 4mm tape cartridges. The revolutionary new iDT 2500 DVDS drive can record
directly from satellite or other high-speed transmission and store over two hours of MPEG-2
broadcast quality video or more than 6 gigabytes of data on one 4mm cartridge. The advanced
DVDS format allows for storage of digital data, audio or video files with easy access through
Indigita's TapeTrax file management software. This software, which was designed for Windows
95/98 and is included with the drive, enables the user to drag and drop files from tape to disk and
play video directly from tape.

"Until now tape drives have been relegated to being a backup for the hard drive," said Mel Gable,
president. "We see the need for inexpensive removable storage that can be used as a multimedia
drive. Our new tape drive has the performance characteristics and high capacity to meet the
increased demand for storage when working with large MPEG-2 video files. No other tape drive
available today can match our capabilities."

Gable added that "one of the most exciting applications for DVDS is that it can function as a digital
VCR for direct broadcast satellite services. With satellite delivery of Web hypertext data and video
directly to a PC, the hard drive does not have enough space and we believe the user will select tape
as a way of building a library of videos and Web sites or archiving data files."

A quick rundown of features includes:

-- Large data storage capacity at a low price.

6 GB native capacity on 120m cartridge 4.5 GB native capacity
on 90m cartridge

-- Adaptive bandwidth recording and playback for capture of
broadcast digital video.

-- Superior helical scan technology for greater reliability.

-- 3 levels of Error Correction Code delivers virtually error-free
playback.

-- 200X high-speed search capability greatly reduces access time.

-- 6 Mbps sustained transfer rate assures smooth, high-quality
video playback.

"DVDS is optimized for MPEG-2 video," said Bill Caldwell, vice president of R&D. "We had to
develop a unique method for playing back at the same rate that the video was encoded and
guarantee a glitch free presentation of video and audio, which requires a higher sustained reliability
than the storage of data. With MPEG-2 video DVDS tape can provide crisp, studio-quality 720 by
480 pixel images and Dolby AC3 audio with theater quality surround sound. There is no equivalent
tape drive in the market that can perform as well as ours."

"The demand for inexpensive removable digital video storage is accelerating," said Tom King,
director of worldwide sales. "Applications such as distance learning, DVD authoring,
teleconferencing and TV set-top boxes are all sampling our tape drive for inclusion in new product
offerings."

Indigita develops and markets digital video tape drives and tape file management software for
