SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- GENROCO, Inc. (GENROCO) (OTC Bulletin Board: GRCI) of Slinger, Wis., will introduce its new TURBOfibre(R) family of high performance storage and networking controllers at SC97, the nation's foremost supercomputing exhibition, which opens here November 18. GENROCO is the premier supplier of leading edge peripheral and communications interfaces for computer platforms manufactured by such firms as Digital Equipment Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics/Cray, Fujitsu Supercomputers, and Hewlett-Packard/Convex. GENROCO produces Fibre Channel, HIPPI, and DVB hardware and software used in such applications as digital video on demand, seismic data analysis, high availability system clustering, and satellite image processing.

GENROCO will demo its first products based on the Company's next generation, patented TURBOfibre(R) DataPropulsion(R) Architecture. A variety of Digital, Sun, and Silicon Graphics workstations and servers will be connected to each other and a number of peripherals by GENROCO HiPPI and Fibre Channel interfaces. Software for TCP/IP networking and IPI-3 storage transferring data at rates of up to 100 megabytes per second will be in operation at booth #1134. GENROCO will also present information about its forthcoming "SuperHiPPI" (aka HiPPI-6400) technology, which will move data at up to one gigabyte per second. The Company plans to begin delivering SuperHiPPI controllers, routers, and switches based on the new architecture early in 1998.

"Ever increasing CPU power is turning formerly compute-bound tasks into I/O-bound tasks," says Carl A. Pick, Chairman and CEO of GENROCO. "The bandwidth available from such technologies as SuperHiPPI is what will be required to feed the world's multimedia information superhighways in the very near future."

GENROCO's product line is based on its sophisticated and flexible proprietary TURBOfibre architecture, which has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 5,420,984. Additional GENROCO information is available at www.genroco.com/

SC97, formerly known as "SuperComputing 'XX," focuses on high speed networking, distributed computing, data-intensive applications, and other emerging technologies that push the frontiers of communications and computing. Ironically, the annual show and conference is being held for the first time in Silicon Valley, home to more than 3,600 technology companies, drawing new exhibitors and interest this year.
