Jeff: The record date (December 1) is for the company to record the split for its shareholders. Stock bought after that date but before Dec. 22 will be split by your brokerage firm.

CNBC 8:43AM EST Joe Kernan mentions IOM split with raised eyebrows and shakes his head saying something doesn't make sense with the split, but, regrettably, he doesn't have time to talk about it.
