On the contrary, some global warmists are calling for a culling of the human population.

Thank You For Not Breeding: Green Hypocrisy

Gro Harlem Brundtland, the UN Chair for the World Commission on Environment and Development, worries that POPULATION growth is a “ticking time bomb” and that “we may soon be facing a new famine on a scale dwarfing even Malthus’s most pessimistic predictions.

Gro Harlem Brundtland has FOUR children.

Brundtland’s views were heavily influenced by her father who went to America on a Rockefeller scholarship, according to the UN. At the age of seven she was enrolled in the Children’s section of the Norwegian Labour Movement.

Al Gore says that Third World nations are producing too many children too fast and that it’s time to cut out-of-control POPULATION growth, which is driving global warming.

Al Gore has FOUR children.

James Lovelock believes that we are headed for global catastrophe because of overPOPULATION and that Malthus was right to say that “overPOPULATION would ruin us all“

Lovelock has FOUR children

Ted Turner believes that overPOPULATION is the world’s number one problem and has said that a Chinese style one-child policy should be enforced.

Turner has FIVE children.

David Suzuki has argued that when it comes to POPULATION “there’s got to be limits” and he fears “a big human die-off” because of overPOPULATION and overconsumption.

David Suzuki has FIVE children.

David Guillabaud of the Optimum POPULATION Trust wants all women to be injected with a semi-permanent birth control vaccine when they hit puberty, to help control the POPULATION.

Guillebaud has THREE children.

All of these people are wealthy members of society whose children will require resouces and land to enjoy themselves. Thank you for not breeding.

James Cameron’s Avatar Wiki Asks – Overpopulation: Should We Take Extreme Measures?

Posted on January 27, 2011 by hauntingthelibrary
<span style='font-size:20px;color:blue'>
The popular Green blog inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar movie has posted an article asking if it’s time to take “extreme measures” to reduce the world’s POPULATION.

The article begins by saying that there are too many people, but that simply killing off unnecessary people can “seem elitist” and perhaps even cruel to some, even though in theory at least, this is an efficient approach:

‘There are too many of us already, and we must not let our numbers grow even further beyond what Earth’s resources can provide. If we want to keep/improve our current standard of living, those who are able should take precautions.

A few of the more extreme ideas (i.e. killing off “unnecessary” members of a POPULATION), while theoretically efficient, seem elitist and unnecessarily drastic and cruel from a human standpoint.

“From a human standpoint” only you understand – from an ecocentric or Gaiain viewpoint, it might be a very different matter. The article takes it as read that there are “too many” people being born:

The total world POPULATION will reach about 9 billion in the year 2042, up from the documented 6 billion in 1999. Over 43 years, that’s a 50% increase, or an additional 3 billion people. That’s simply too many!

Some world governments presently have POPULATION limitation programs in place (China), or are developing new forms of contraception.

Wow! China – with it’s forced sterilizations and heavily pregnant women being dragged off for involuntary abortions? Is it that bad? Apparently it is:

I think it’s almost becoming a necessity at this point. It’s pretty evident by now that we’ve gone beyond a sustainable POPULATION.

I love the way this article is framed as a question, but really is more of a statement. “Should we take extreme measures” it asks, and then states that “it’s almost becoming a necessity at this point”. They’re not recommending extreme measures, you understand, merely discussing it. Yeah, right.
