Rob: analysts already told their clients to sell since a week ago. Now
they come out to tell the small investors to sell. Apparently, they are
not happy with CEO of COMS. He should join Apple ASAP. There is a
position to fill there.

Rob,

<<They missed the boat and have done a poor job for their clients. What good will a downgrade do now that their clients have lost $20-$30 a share. Are they now telling them to sell? That would be ridiculous. It's just a game and you have to know how to play it. >>

They very well may be telling their clients to buy at the same time they are issuing the downgrades. This is a great way to make a profit for the firm and their clients. That is the game!

Ian

This is my first post on this thread, though I've lurked for the couple of months that I've held COMS. (or as they say on the sports talk radio station, "first time caller, long time listener.")

I shared your observations on the analysts' Recommendation Game with my broker at a major house...one of the players, if you will. I hope it helps her understand that while I know I have to have the stomach for the tech-stock ride, I really don't need her analyst compadres making it worse than it has to be and making me feel like a chump. 3COM is a big player in an exciting, growing industry. All of the gaming of the stock shouldn't matter in the long run. If it does then I guess I am indeed a chump.
