I was quite disappointed when the movie 2012 didn't use the whole Nibiru planet thing, which has the setup of a good plot. You could explain that instead of Nibiru being an internet hoax, it is the suppressed truth that the world conspiracy doesn't want the people to know, to prevent panic...while the elites prepare their escape, or some such. It would have made a better movie than the one that came out.

Has anyone yet suggested that the Mayan Calendar that appears to end in 2012, if indeed the correct correlations have been made between the astrological positions referenced by the Maya and todays calendar? Better yet, has anyone suggested that the calendar created by the Maya simply ran out of room on their circular disk?
