The press release does not mention GX3.

ST - Looks like S3 will be showing off a little of the Faroudja technology at Comdex afterall, though with the short paragraph and vague description I get the impression that it is very much a work in progress. Love the potential, but GJ or preferably somebody else has got to prove they can run the company. Be cautious, remember that GJ has already stated that the next two quarters will be awful, and those Brits tends to be conservative<g>.

The delay of Windows 98 is a blessing in disguise for S3, any prosperity depends on having the Faroudja technology rolling with the new operating system, if either event ever occurs. On the sidelines till then.

Mark.

Hey Frank,
A little over 18 months ago a broker mentioned that a company called SIII looked interesting. An investment group my girlfriend participates in decided to get some SIII as well as some other non hi-tech stock for their startup portfolio. I was looking at INTC and suggested they might try that. But they went with SIII instead at 12+ and I got some INTC at 37. Happy me!! Then I found this thread and 14-16 months ago all I read here was what a great product and what great fundamentals. I assume that in terms of the fundamentals, it was more the production/tech side than accounting fundamentals. So I got some SIII. Two different sources, albeit this source might be a little less objective as I see now. So I've had this stock when it climbed thru the teens to @20 and the company could do no wrong, other than the stock price not climb higher faster.

Then something strange started happening. Good announcements were occurring and the price was going DOWN!! Almost every win or other positive announcement was followed by a price drop. The finger was pointed at the MM's. I even pointed at them....with many expletives deleted!!

Someone suggested that insiders were dumping stock. Responses were that one couldn't be sure that it was insiders and if it was, it was just a filing for an option to dump.

Somewhere along this spring someone (I think it was you) started gently suggesting that management start showing that they were as much behind the growth of the company(and its stock price) by purchasing more stock. I found this somewhat amusing, as I figured that they figured that as long as they were making a good product and were selling it (more units than anybody else!) and therefore making money, that that was all they needed to do. I certainly would like to buy a boat....or condo....or whatever if I had the cash/liquidity.

I don't need to rehash the events over the past few weeks. But I am astonished at the lynch mob mentality on this thread. These guys may be guilty as hell. Well, actually, they ARE guilty as hell. I just don't know whether they are guilty of fraud or stupidity. I don't know how many people on this thread work for SIII or that personally know any of the principles, but those are the only people that truly know what went down.

SIII has not responded to the suits or charges, other than to more or less say, "CRAP and CRAPOLA". Which I would do if someone came charging at me and I had done nothing wrong. Of course, it's good strategy, if you are guilty, to act like you are not. But they have never announced anything until they had the deal/product in hand. I think that part of the reason the price of this stock is at 6 is that the hanging rope is stretched, the limb is sagging, and the horse is being slapped, and we don't know all of the facts.

How come there are no articles in the media? Why haven't any of the analysts interviewed GJ, et. al? Why are we climbing on the lawsuit bandwagon instead of inundating SIII with queries as to what hell is going on and what are you doing about correcting it. Pressure can be brought to bear on the company that is not as costly to us as a lawsuit is, filed or in court.

The next thing I expect to hear on this thread is that SIII has never had a "real" product. That the Virge's, the Trio's, the whatever's were really someone else's product and that all SIII did was oem it and reship it. Any takers? I'm sure someone could put more elegant spin on it.

Sorry to rant on, but I experience low thresholds for both pain and pleasure. And this stock has maxed me on both.

JP

P.S. Hope in 6-9 months I can tell all of you that got out in the last couple of weeks, "Nyah, nyah!! Told you so!!".

Waiting and watching and trying to calm the horse down.

Bitter Sweet Frank. I am pretty thankful that I didnt own it but I truly feel bad for those that did. To gamble on product acceptance, market share, earnings, etc. is one things, to gamble on the accuracy of the books is another.

I hope they find the executives liable and take their profits from selling at 17ish a 1/2 year ago. They stink and regardless of whether it was intentional or not, they are responsible. Thats what happens when you accept the job of CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. The buck stops with you.

Anyway, hopefully took the chance to get out at 11ish on the conference call or at 8 when they announced the restatement. I cant say I have been watching this stock. I really don't have any desire to own it again, ever.

Good luck to all.

Regards,
