K,

Re - "Joey Smith: re the INTEL ads, I hate to say your logic is right on. They suck but I think they'll work for the market segment targeted."

This seems to simplistic to be missed, but aren't these adds designed to gather in the kids, develop brand recognition, and develop loyal customers for the next 40 to 70 years! Why do people drink coke or pepsi or whatever....brand loyalty, coolness, etc. These adds take computers from the world of egg head geeks, to something pretty cool. You know, air jordans, high priced jeans, now the only processor to own if you are "with it" is an Intel. Generics aren't big in this country, and Intel has definitely moved themselves into a class well above the generic AMD and Cryix units. Tell someone at work you bought AMD or Cyrix and see how much respect and envy it generates, but look real hard cause it isn't much. Intel made a good move here and can certainly begin emphasizing the benefits of power computing at any time. This may not make much sense to adults, but I see a lot of kids wearing Tommy Helfinger shirts that are almost as expensive as a processor, "image is everything" at that age.

Go bunny suits.
