Ted, > Just like seeing Detroit getting its act together and was glad to see Eminem finally step up.

I love the ad, but I think the slogan isn't going to fly. "Imported from Detroit" is going to make me think I'm driving a car better suited for Eminem or Dr. Dre than Donald Trump or Warren Buffet.

I wasn't too focused on the part concerning the car. I just liked the way they were presenting Detroit. There is a resurgence going on in Detroit. Still very small and very grass roots but during the past 5-6 years, people.......mostly younger.....have started moving back into the city and reclaiming some of the buildings and neighborhoods that have been abandoned. The movement is very small and very fragile, and so it needs all the help it can get. I hope Eminem....with all his millions......will take a more active position. Gordy Berry too........and other well known Detroiters.

I think turning Detroit around would be good for this country's soul.

As for Eminem himself, already he's looking like somewhat of a hypocrite. Just moments earlier during the Super Bowl, he was featured in another ad (another favorite of mine):

youtube.com

"See? That's why I don't do commercials!" LMAO ...

Yeah, that one was funny. Instead of hypocrisy though, I think the Detroit commercial shows you that he was willing to get out of his safety zone and make a commitment to the city he calls home. Time will tell.
