JPMorgan: Verizon (VZ) Sells 500K Apple (AAPL) iPhones on Day One
11:09 am ET 02/08/2011 - StreetInsider

JPMorgan analyst Phil Cusick threw out the number of 500,000 iPhones sold by Verizon (NYSE: VZ), which said last week that it had sold more iPhones in the first two hours of preorders than it sold of any other device on launch day.

Cusick said that since Verizon continued to sell the device throughout the day, the analyst sees the company selling 500,000 units of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) smartphone.

Comparably, Apple announced last summer when it launched the iPhone 4, it had 600,000 preorders, but that was over several days and with a few carriers.
