Islam is a religion of Peace. And Islam is also the State religion of Bangladesh. 14 year old girls have been stoned to death in the name of Allah since the 13th century in that region.

The court has ruled it as a crime. The law of the land says it was a criminal act.

Would you not expect the same in the US ?

The rule of law in the US reflects the predominate cultural and religious beliefs of the general populace.

Seems that in Muslim Bangladesh, along with some other primitive Islamic countries, that is not the case, as this incident shows that law and culture are at severe odds..
