Fresh off the news wire:

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML)
and Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM) announced today that they will jointly
develop integrated-circuit solutions for a variety of digital imaging
applications, specifically those that use Iomega's latest disk drive family,
clik!(TM).
The products to be developed under this agreement will integrate Iomega's
standard interface into Atmel's devices to enable a faster acceptance of the
disk drive. The devices developed under this pact will be made available by
Atmel to the general market.
Iomega's clik! product family will be the first high-capacity, affordable
storage solution for portable digital products and is expected to be available
by the second half of 1998. The clik! product family includes a small,
low-cost portable drive designed for customers to take and use anywhere with
their hand-held products.
"The clik! drive will be the first true 'digital film' that is able to
compete on both price and image quality with regular film. A variety of
Atmel's future digital camera products will have the interface standard
integrated into its devices to form a complete and cost-effective solution,"
stated James Raby, Atmel's Business Development Manager for Imaging Products.
Iomega's clik! product family will meet the storage needs of the digital
imaging and portable product market, enabling customers to synchronize
information between portable products and back to the computer.
"Many of Atmel's devices are perfectly suited for clik! drives and disks
used in many digital imaging applications. We are confident that Iomega's new
drive will fit comfortably in a new generation of highly integrated system
architectures in the digital camera market," added Raby.
"Iomega has enjoyed an ongoing relationship with Atmel, and we are pleased
to be partnering in this expanded relationship with a fast-growing and
enthusiastic company such as Atmel," stated Mike Lundgren, General Manager of
Iomega's Mobile Storage Division.
