at my kids school every friday was/still is pizza day, there was not one overweight kid in either of my sons grades. 40-60 kids in each grade

it's disgusting that she would sacrifice her kid's dignity in the name of her cause. If her kids are on a diet, we should never know about that. jxn loves pizza. And with the fact that he is practically a vegetarian, I am happy with him getting his protein wherever he can. Now that jxn wrestles, he has gone from being a slender kid to being pretty well "cut". it's weird seeing an 11yo kid with muscles. When he has to make weight, I join him on his diet. Last Thursday we had celery and carrots for dinner with a chaser of bran cereal. Like you, we have never made anything verboten...except mushrooms. But he has always been the kid on halloween that eats one piece of candy and then gives the rest to me. He's just not interested. His preferred drink, other than water is ice tea....not pepsi!!!! (btw: I am pepsi free now for 15 months). Anyway, I think that Michelle Obama needs to take up the campaign for parents to start acting like they love and care for their kids. That will do tons to solve the obesity AND drug problems in the inner cities. But that would require that minority groups stop seeing themselves as victims and start taking some responsibility for their situation. But that would be political suicide for Obama specifically and the progressives in general.
