Subsidizing oil drilling is crazy. If people want to drill for oil, sell them a licence by auction and get out of the way. If they don't want to, they can do something else they prefer. If oil is expensive, somebody will drill for more. If it's too cheap to make it worth drilling, there is obviously enough of the stuff already available so drilling for more is silly. Is that a serious discussion? Fire all involved, cut all subsidies. In the light of cap and trade and woes about Global Doom, it's literally insane to subsidize the thing that politicians want to stop [oil production and burning]. Mqurice
